Wow! I better not be falling behind on my blogging! I have been scolded by a few for not posting yet this week, and for that I don't really apologize to be honest, because it was a wonderful weekend, such a wonderful weekend in fact that I didn't have time to sit on the computer and post about it. To sum it all up a little bit for ya.. Last week was amazing. First of all, we had the Fourth of July. Our actual fourth was a little boring. we had the day off which was really nice! and we had the missionaries and one of Zack's good buddies Brian over, so that was fun! Oh, and I made a really delicious banana pudding with yummy strawberries and blueberries on it to make it more American (picture below)! But the rest of the night was pretty chill. We didn't want to spend money on fireworks, so we didn't buy any of our own, and lets be honest, doing your own fireworks is much more fun is 1) you can spend a ton of money on them to get the big ones, or 2) you have a group of people to do them with, including kids. Since we had neither of those, we decided against it. We did go Mini golfing again, but that was not something I like to remember too much primarily because I went out with cute curly hair and came back with straight stringy hair. It was SOO HOTT!!! I mean I grew up in Vegas and it was still KILLER! Humidity is NOT my friend. Now that being said, I did like 10x better this second round than I did last time, so I was happy about that. And also we found (and I caught it!) a frog outside our house on our way back into the air conditioning. (picture also below!)
So that was Wednesday, Thursday night we went to a Fireworks show! YAY!! weird that they didn't have one on the actual holiday, but regardless, we were happy to go. As far as I'm concerned it was great because it extended the holiday out a little longer, and who doesn't love a longer holiday? Besides starting half an hour late, the show was pretty awesome! We had these great people behind us. Well this great man. We will call him Larry. He was an absolute crack up! He is what I would call... redneck. Yes, full blown redneck! He pronounced America Uh-mur-ica, and said it a lot as he was explaining to his son how the fireworks go off. He told his son that a man with a torch was basically running back and forth lighting off one firework at a time. Soon after that those fast fan-like ones were going off. I wondered how the man ran so fast from each one with time to light the others as well. It made for a great picture in my mind!! (for those of you who don't know, it is all electronic now. They use computers to do the show). So while it was a pretty great show, it did make me miss the Kaysville show. There was no music or anything that the fireworks went to and it just didn't have quite the same feel to it. Regardless, it was so wonderful to watch the fireworks wrapped in the arms of the man I love!
After the Fireworks, we took a day off from all of the fun. We had to rest up for Saturday! Saturday we woke up early in the morning and went to the Chicago Temple! It was so fun! Driving to Chicago was awesome too! It was really cool to see the city and to think, wow! this is real! We are really here! A year ago we had hardly even thought about coming here and yet now, here we are! There are pictures of all of that below. We had planned to go to the Zoo or a museum afterwards but we took longer in the temple than initially planned (which is always a great feeling!) and then the traffic in Chicago was so horrible that we decided to go to Michigan City and go to the outlet mall instead! It was a really great day and wonderful to spend so much time with my sweetheart.
Then, this week, on Tuesday, I could never forget that we had our 3rd wedding anniversary! Both Zack and I said how it is so weird because in ways its like, holy cow! THREE years! That is so long! Where has the time gone??? And on the other hand its like, holy cow! THREE years! That's it?! You mean you had a life before me? And I had a life before you?? I'm sure it only gets worse with age but man, it was great to celebrate our anniversary. Zack got me some sexy new TOMS heels and some HOTT Nike work out stuff and I got him some SWEET new Basketball shoes and a nice fitness shirt to go with it. It was definitely a wonderful day. Well now that I have rambled on enough about how our week was, here are some pictures! I hope you enjoy.
Til next time!

On our way to the temple! The long drive must have been taking its toll on zack. Or maybe it was all of the outrageous toll fees that were taking their toll on him. |

Zack loved that the building was so tall that you couldn't see the top of it. |

For my first try, I think it was pretty good! And now I learned a lot of great tips to help me make it look better next time! |
